Rotating bridges (for sedimentation tanks)

Sedimentation systems are of big use in the field of wastewater treatment. Scrapping bridges are used to collect the sludge from the bottom of the sedimentation tanks. These constructions can be either circular or rectangular and are of crucial importance in a wastewater treatment plant.

The scraping mechanism for the circular sedimentation tanks, consists of a bridge that rotates at a very slow rate, powered by a drive unit which is located in the center of the tank. The rotating bridge holds the scrapper just above the bottom of the tank where all the sludge is collected. The sludge scrapper, guides the sludge towards a collector hopper which is located in the center on the tank.
